A/N: ...I really wanted to do a Riku/Tidus 'fic. Here it is. Part 1 of a possible 3 in "A Destiny Circle". The title comes from...well...It's Riku. And Tidus. . "Ribbon"-set.
Riku and Tidus were kings of the school. Never mind how they got there, or who gave them such power. Wakka was suspicious from the start, and knew that they had broken another heart to form such a bond.
It was the way they glanced at one another from across the room, or the hallways. It was the notes they passed during class. It was those secret meetings with Vincent that everyone speculated about.
Riku and Tidus may have ruled the school, but they knew who was in charge of their relationship.
"There is no you," Riku said, "You are a part of me. Remember that."
Tidus said, "I know, I know."
Riku smiled, and pulled Tidus into another kiss before branding Tidus as his forever.

"Do you like not having friends?" Wakka asked.
"Do you like being lonely?" Tidus shot back.
Riku and Tidus smiled. They may have alienated all the friends they may have had, but Riku thought of the glory, and Tidus thought of the sex.
Sex and Glory. Vincent promised them this and much more.
Another day started.
Riku and Tidus were the kings of the school, and of their neighborhood. Everyone speculated how they got there. The rumors ranged from a bitter fight with the former big men on campus, to Faustian contracts with the Devil. They speculated, but they never asked questions or tried to find out the truth because of what happened to Kairi.
Four people knew how they got there. And with the help of the only adult who wasn't enthralled by the self-made Princes of the Islands, they would end their reign.
Tidus believed that he needed no other person.
Riku was finally content.
Neither one saw what was coming next.

Wakka was not like Riku at all. Sora almost forgot what it was like to have a say. He almost forgot what it was like to be able to have an opinion without having to check with someone.
Wakka smiled at Sora and said, "Good morning, are we going out today?"
"...Where?" Sora asked.
"Selphie and Kairi want to meet us at that pizza place," Wakka said, "Besides, it'll be fun."
Wakka liked having Sora in his house, and neither of the boys' parents actually minded. Wakka liked hearing Sora's laughter, and the fact that Sora was there when his spirits were low.
"Fine," Sora said, "Can we stay in bed for five more minutes?"
Wakka kissed Sora on his forehead and said, "Kairi hates it when we're late."
"You're right," Sora said.
Sora nearly forgot what it was like to be loved for who he was.
Wakka nearly forgot what it was like to be loved at all.

Why did Kairi challenge her? Challenging Selphie was generally a bad idea. Challenging Selphie when it came to a thing like this was dangerous. But Kairi meant it, every word. She wanted to be a boy that day.
Unfortunately, she wasn't in any position to argue. She sat on Selphie's bed, while Selphie stood by the door.
"...You said that you wanted to be a boy, right?" Selphie asked.
Selphie smiled as Kairi said, "And you wouldn't?"
"Being a boy would suck," Selphie said, "No access to the girls' locker rooms." She dodged a pillow and said, "What was that for?!"
Kairi grabbed another pillow and said, "One more comment like that..."
"It's not like you aren't admired," Selphie said, "You get love letters from a lot of girls...you have a gift. Most people would kill for such a gift...I wouldn't mind it. And you don't, either."
Kairi shook her head. Selphie always said weird things, but Selphie was almost always right. And Kairi hated being wrong.
"So," Selphie said, "What are you doing way over there?"
Kairi said, "Safe distance. If you get too close you might--"
Before Kairi knew it, Selphie was sitting next to her on that large bed, saying, "Might what?"
"Fall under whatever spell I cast over people," Kairi said.
Selphie said, "...I'm not under a spell." Selphie smiled, inching closer to Kairi, saying, "If it was a spell, I was under it a long time ago."
"What!?" Kairi asked, "What are you--?!"
A kiss silenced Kairi's panicked response.
When Selphie finally relased Kairi, she said, "...I have always liked you."
"Really?" Kairi asked.
"Really," Selphie said, "Now we go. It wouldn't be right for us to be late, now would it?"
Kairi shook her head. She almost forgot that they were meeting Sora and Wakka somewhere. Riku and Tidus were nowhere to be found.
It was better that way.
"Let's go then!" Kairi said, "Oh, Sora will never let me hear the end of it."
