Fic--A Doll Princess--PG
Title: A Doll Princess
Author: Rubyfruit Pixie
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Rating: PG
Warnings: ...Uh, angst? Sap? Slightly-creepy!Demyx? Mild language.
Summary: In the depths of Oblivion, Demyx finally found his muse. Unfortunately, she's imprisoned in a cage that only he can see, another world away.
Words: 476
Disclaimer: Disclaimers are an endless waltz in which I must say, time and time again, that Kingdom Hearts is not my property. Square-Enix-Soft and the smoking crater where Disney once stood does own the rights. I am merely borrowing the characters and settings.
A/N: My first stab at Demyx/Kairi. Whee. Watch the fail! Also, the cut text is from "Adesso e Fortuna" by Arai Akino and means "I am a prisoner" in Italian. How...appropriate.

It wasn't that there weren't any other channels on Oblivion Television that he could be watching. There were billions upon billions arranged by world, so to any sane occupant of Oblivion, there was no excuse for Demyx to watch just one such channel so intently.

There were many billions of channels that Demyx could watch, but only one channel interested him.

As he watched, he wondered. What it'd be like if he just appeared on the Destiny Islands tomorrow. Would he see Selphie first? After all, it's probably been years since he'd seen his little sister--wait, there she was.

Demyx smiled. She must be pretty damn important to Kairi...He couldn't help but to feel a little jealous of Selphie. His time of silently envying his younger sister would be cut short, he figured. It was only a matter of time, after all, until someone broke something in the "Real" world, and the denizens of Oblivion--all of them--would surge forth into the world of the living. It was inevitable, after all, that someone would try to dick around with the system to gain the honor of Sora's presence in their world.

Some part of Demyx felt that this admiration was stupid. Stupid and absolutely dangerous.

"...Pretty..."

Kairi's eyes, Kairi's face, Kairi's laughter--To Demyx, everything about Kairi was a thing of beauty, even when Sora and his legend did their best to eclipse that brilliant glow. Kairi was glowing now, all brigtht sounds and loud laughter. There was none of the rehearsed laughter that he saw when she was in Sora's presence. In fact, it was almost as if Kairi became a completely different person when Sora was away.

Demyx just about threw something at the screen. There Sora was, and when Sora entered, all of Kairi's spirit just...left.

"I guess," Demyx said, "That too much time playing princess with a prince who's only playing has really worn down your confidence."

He smirked as he started to plan on what he'd do should he ever reach the Destiny Islands. Most of those plans, unfortunately, involved turning Sora into a mass of blood and Keybearer-goo, then going to Kairi's door with a bouquet of wildflowers.

Sadly, Demyx was stuck here in Oblivion, unless--

"I'm at my wit's END with you crazy bastards! OUT! OUT! Every last one of you Organization lunatics!"

Apparently, Vincent was not happy with his guests. No, not at all. "Especially you, you wretched pink creature." He pushed Marluxia off of him, saying, "I hate you, most of all! Go somewhere, you just...can't stay here!"

Demyx frowned as he reluctantly left his place in front of the giant screen. Perhaps this happened for a reason. Either the Fates were kind to him, or they just had impeccable timing.

'Because,' he thought, 'Kairi doesn't need someone to save her from the cage. She just needs someone to catch her if she falls once she gets free.'

Now, he'd be there for Kairi.

(End!)

*swoons~* Ah, so sweet! <3 Go get her, Demyx! His lines were perfect, and Vincent cracked me up. xD Wretched pink creature, indeed.
